Introduction:

The intention of this document is to outline potential student leadership positions for the Daniels Net Impact chapter.  Several positions are listed and described below.  These descriptions are not intended to be comprehensive, but they are intended to give guidance to the students participating in the Daniels Net Impact chapter.  It is to be expected that the students who are in the leadership positions will further explore and define the responsibilities and benefits of the positions.

Being a leader in the Daniels Net Impact Chapter provides personal and professional benefits.  By being a leader in the Daniels Net Impact Chapter students benefit by:

  • Taking a leadership role in Daniels’ premier student group that is dedicated to positively impacting the world through responsible leadership in business
  • Developing and honing leadership skills through guiding a team of peers
  • Networking with other students, professionals, and alumni
  • Making a real difference in creating  positive social and environmental change in the Daniels graduate school program and community

Summary of Positions:

The positions listed below are a result of researching the Net Impact chapter positions of the past, brainstorming chapter needs, and from positions recommended by the Net Impact Central organization.

It is expected that several students may be interested in the same position and Net Impact encourages students to collaborate on these positions.  The chapter recognizes that students have many reasons for participating and those leadership roles should not be limited to specific tasks and objectives.  There are opportunities for students to participate in several dimensions.  For example, students who may be in a leadership position such as Finance may also be interested participating as an Events Organizer to create and lead a panel discussion of industry experts on a particular subject.

Several positions are critical to the continuity of the Daniels chapter.  These positions should be filled during the summer retreat and efforts must begin on the positions’ responsibilities during the summer in order to ensure the success of the chapter during the fall student orientations.  These positions include the President, Finance, Marketing, Events, and Fall Membership positions.

There is the potential for vacant positions.  Net Impact looks forward to the opportunity to recruit new students in the fall and spring orientation into positions in order to cultivate the chapter leadership for the next school year.
